EXPLAINER VIDEOS
FROM BRIEF TO FINAL EDIT
| WHAT WE EXPLAIN | OUR APPROACH |
Turn difficult products, services and processes into clear video
Products & services
Show what you offer, who it is for and how it works without making the viewer decode a page of copy.
Product demonstrations
Film the real product in use when seeing it work is the fastest route to understanding.
Processes & systems
Break a process into the stages viewers actually need to follow, supported by close-ups, captions or diagrams.
Presenter & voice-over
Use a controlled script when the wording, timing or technical information needs to stay precise.
Animation & graphics
Add motion graphics, diagrams or animation where the important information cannot be shown clearly with live action alone.
HOW WE SHAPE THE EXPLANATION
Start with the question the viewer is struggling with
The aim is to make the subject easier to understand, not to squeeze every detail into one film.
1
Define the problem
Identify the exact question, misconception or decision the viewer needs help with.
3
Build a clear sequence
Put the information in the order a first-time viewer can follow without backtracking.
2
Choose the clearest format
Use demonstration, presenter, voice-over, graphics or animation according to what makes the idea easiest to grasp.
4
Keep only what earns its place
Remove repetition and side issues that make the explanation harder to absorb.
Show it working instead of over-explaining it
Quickblock is easier to understand when you can actually see the product being assembled.
Real-world demonstration footage can answer questions about speed, sequence, scale and use far more quickly than another paragraph of narration.
Where useful, close-ups, titles or voice-over can then draw attention to the detail the viewer might otherwise miss.
THREE WAYS TO MAKE IT CLEARER
Use only the tools the explanation actually needs
Show the real thing
People, products and demonstrations when reality is the strongest explanation.
Guide with words
Presenter or voice-over when the message needs a clear route from point to point.
Add visual detail
Captions, diagrams, graphics and animation where they genuinely make the idea easier to follow.
Detailed product and process explanation
Some subjects need more than a quick overview. Step-by-step demonstration footage can show the detail clearly without losing the overall sequence.

EXPLAINER VIDEO FAQ
Useful questions before production
How long should an explainer video be?
Long enough to answer the question properly, but no longer. A simple proposition may work in 45–90 seconds; a technical process may need several minutes or a short chaptered series.
What should we provide before scripting starts?
Existing web copy, brochures, technical notes, presentations and access to a subject expert are usually enough. We can turn that material into a concise structure before filming.
When is animation better than live-action filming?
Animation is useful when the important action is hidden, abstract, not yet built or difficult to film clearly. If the real product already demonstrates the idea well, live action is often the more direct choice.
Who should appear in an explainer video?
Subject experts bring authority, presenters give controlled delivery and voice-over leaves the screen free for demonstrations and graphics. The right choice depends on the subject and audience.
How do you simplify technical information without losing accuracy?
Keep the technical terms that matter, but connect them to something visible. Close-ups, diagrams, captions and plain-language narration can show how the parts, stages or ideas relate without stripping out necessary detail.
One long explainer or several short videos?
Use one film when the ideas depend on each other. If viewers need different answers at different stages, several short videos are often easier to find, update and reuse.
Explainer video or promotional video?
An explainer is centred on understanding. If the main job is selling an offer or campaign, see our marketing video production.
How much does an explainer video cost?
Cost depends on development time, filming, presenter or voice-over requirements, graphics or animation and the number of finished versions. See video production pricing or send the subject and intended audience for a specific quote.
