We normally keep the room quiet, explain what will happen and start conversationally rather than expecting a polished answer immediately.
For contributors who are uncomfortable, we often record two takes: a natural first version and then a deliberately shorter one. If somebody is really struggling with a longer scripted message, a practical alternative is to film a confident introduction and closing line, then use prompted or read sections through the middle.
Consent, safeguarding and suitability for participation remain with the commissioning organisation, and any sensitive material should have a clear approval route before publication.
