Senedd Panel Event Video – Cardiff

PANEL EVENT VIDEO · CARDIFF

filming talks at The Senedd

The brief

A two hour panel event at the Senedd in Cardiff required a two-camera full-length recording as well as brief interviews for a shorter promotional film. The production needed to serve viewers wanting the complete discussion and those looking for a concise overview.

The two-camera approach provided continuous coverage and visual changes throughout the panel, while the interviews supplied short standalone comments for the highlights edit.

Creating long-form and short-form event coverage

For the full recording, both cameras had to maintain dependable views of the discussion so the edit could move between speakers without losing continuity. The coverage remained focused on the event rather than trying to infer or reshape its subject.

Brief interviews were recorded around the event and combined with selected panel footage. This gave the promotional version a clear structure while keeping the longer discussion available in full.

Planning one production for two outputs

The full-length recording and the shorter film have different viewing patterns. Capturing clean continuous coverage alongside concise interview material allowed each version to be edited for its own purpose.

Two-camera panel coverage preserved the complete event, while short interviews and selected footage supplied a more accessible promotional edit.

The result

The finished production provided a full-length two-camera record of the Senedd panel and a shorter highlights film using interviews and event footage. One filming session therefore supported both archive and promotional use.
