MobiVet promotional video filmed in Bridgend

The brief

MobiVet needed a concise promotional film for use as part of an awards presentation. The purpose was clearly defined before filming, allowing the production to concentrate on the people, service and practical activity that explained the business.

Approximately four hours were available on site in Bridgend, so the filming plan had to gather useful talking-to-camera material and relevant working footage without slowing down the day.

Filming real people in a working veterinary practice

MobiVet remained open and working throughout the shoot. Rather than stage appointments or recreate activity for the camera, the production followed the practice as it actually operated. Where customers appeared on camera, permission was requested before filming. They were very accommodating, allowing genuine consultations and day-to-day activity to be captured without manufacturing scenes.

That documentary approach gave the film something staged coverage would have struggled to reproduce: real staff, real customers and the normal pace of the practice. It also meant working quickly and staying out of the way, because the veterinary work always came first.

Helping staff speak naturally on camera

Some of the team were understandably self-conscious when asked to speak directly to camera. They were not professional presenters, and the aim was not to make them sound like presenters. The wording was broken into manageable sections, contributors were guided through the meaning and emphasis of each part, and conversational takes were repeated until the delivery felt comfortable and genuine.

The aim was not to stage a polished imitation of a working vet practice. It was to capture the real one, then help the people who knew it best communicate clearly on camera.

Working with a script at short notice

The client-supplied script arrived shortly before filming, leaving limited time for the staff to rehearse. On site, the wording was divided into shorter sections and worked through at a pace that suited each contributor, while documentary b-roll was gathered around the practice to carry the story visually.

With only around four hours available, the balance was to keep the scripted message clear without allowing the filming to disrupt a normal working day.

The result

The finished promotional film combines guided staff contributions with unstaged documentary footage from the working practice. It gives the awards presentation a concise account of MobiVet while keeping the people and day-to-day activity recognisably real.
